In case you thought there wouldn’t be any politics at Exhibitchin’!, here’s a crop of David’s thought-provoking “Political Cartoon”.
Can you guess what Tony Abbott is riding? I bet you can!
More bitchin’ arts in progress!
EXHIBITCHIN’! is our first “art show” at Squishface. We’re still making the art. Marta wants to serve milkshakes and trifle at the opening and will not be dissuaded.
Howdy! Marta here! Tonight was the Brunswick Street Gallery opening night for the Small Works exhibition. I entered 5 watercolour fish bone pieces to the exhibition. It’s my berry series: Strawberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Blackberry and Raspberry. I’m selling the original watercolours this time. Wheee!!! I am thinking of having a solo exhibition at some point…
One of the things we’re doing in Gippsland in July is THIS exhibition at the Cowwarr Art Space!
The opening is on Sunday 8th July at 2pm. We’ll be there, because we’re doing a big fun two day comics jam event over that weekend — also at Cowwarr Art Space. Anyone ‘round Gippsland who wants to hang out and draw with the Squishfacers should get themselves there!
Thanks to Matt Emery, who reminded me we needed to post this up!
It’s on for this weekend only, as far as I can tell. Featuring work by Mandy Ord, Dillon Naylor, Daniel Reed, David Blumenstein, Ben Hutchings, Kirrily Schell, Bernard Caleo, Ive Sorocuk, Leigh Rigozzi, Marta Tesoro, Jase Harper and Neale Blanden.
If things go well, it looks like some Squishfacers will go to Gippsland in July for an exhibition and to run some comics workshops!
It’s being organised by the good people at Cowwarr Art Space (where David did a week’s residency last year working on his Bret Braddock comics) and would involve the Art Space and the nearby Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale. Carolyn at Cowwarr Art Space helped organise for Sarah and David to be involved in the Gallery’s Big Draw in 2011.
So if you’re in/around the Gippsland Lakes area (or can get there), stay tuned. Hopefully we’ll have dates soon.
For now, check out Cowwarr Art Space’s newsletter.
Howdy, howdy!
Well, this is my deity, all finished up at Squishface Studios and submitted for the Little Deities Exhibition that is happening on March 08! Photo above was taken by Justin Foo. Check his work out on his blog as it’s pretty awesome!
