Ive, Sarah, Ben, David and Marta took a trip to Cowwarr in July to do some drawing at the Cowwarr Art Space. Sarah went up early to run comics workshops with kids, and then we spent a great weekend in town drawing, hanging out and opening our exhibition Squishface & Fraser (a joint exhibition with printmaker Sue Fraser).

We had a fantastic time. If you think you might like to visit the Art Space or maybe even tee yourself up a residency there, go here for more info.

Check out other amusing clips over at the Squishface YouTube channel.

Here’s a nice video essay put together by Rachael Lucas, intrepid ABC Gippsland reporter! It’s about the Squishface + Fraser exhibition we’re in at the Cowwarr Art Space. Check it out! Ben says intelligent things about comics!

One of the things we’re doing in Gippsland in July is THIS exhibition at the Cowwarr Art Space!
The opening is on Sunday 8th July at 2pm. We’ll be there, because we’re doing a big fun two day comics jam event over that weekend — also at Cowwarr Art Space. Anyone ‘round Gippsland who wants to hang out and draw with the Squishfacers should get themselves there!
Thanks to Matt Emery, who reminded me we needed to post this up!

If things go well, it looks like some Squishfacers will go to Gippsland in July for an exhibition and to run some comics workshops!

It’s being organised by the good people at Cowwarr Art Space (where David did a week’s residency last year working on his Bret Braddock comics) and would involve the Art Space and the nearby Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale. Carolyn at Cowwarr Art Space helped organise for Sarah and David to be involved in the Gallery’s Big Draw in 2011.

So if you’re in/around the Gippsland Lakes area (or can get there), stay tuned. Hopefully we’ll have dates soon.

For now, check out Cowwarr Art Space’s newsletter.
